This addition addressed several needs for the homeowners and added beauty and accessibility to their home in the process.
Due to a family member’s celiac disease, it was important for the new kitchen to have a gluten free zone for storing dishes and prepping meals. The homeowners also wanted to remain in their home as they aged, so they needed an accessible first floor bathroom and a safe exterior stair landing.
After careful planning, we designed and built a beautiful and spacious addition that not only satisfies the homeowners’ needs, but also ties perfectly into the aesthetic of their existing home.
The kitchen area is bright due to white cabinets, tile, and flooring along with so much natural light that the homeowners said they “love how much light just pours into the space.” A yellow accent wall and floating wood shelves complete the look.
The accessible bathroom utilizes universal design and has a zero-entry shower that makes getting in and out easy even for those with limited mobility. It also includes grab bars and a handheld shower head for added accessibility.
