This bathroom in a 1950s split-level home was remodeled to specifically meet the accessibility needs of the homeowner’s daughter and to allow the homeowners to age in place. Their original bathroom was cramped and offered poor lighting and little space for assisted care for their daughter. The renovated bathroom utilizes universal design to make the space more accessible for everyone. Improvements include a spacious zero-clearance shower, additional storage, and a teak bench that allows for easier care routines. The new, brightly lit bathroom is a serene space that’s accessible to everyone in the home.
This project won the NARI of Madison 2022 Contractor of the Year Award for Residential Bath $50,001 to $75,000.
