A Modern Ensuite Bath Remodel

This primary bathroom remodel in Madison, WI is part of a full attic renovation that won a 2026 regional NARI Remodeler of the Year Award. We transformed an unused attic into a primary suite, complete with this beautiful, modern ensuite bathroom.

We designed the bathroom remodel with bold contrast held together by warm, natural details. Black-and-white tile with dark grout anchors the space visually, while frameless glass and warm wood cabinetry keep the palette soft and warm. We made sure every detail of the larger attic design carried through to the bathroom. For example, the archways in the closet design reappear in the bathroom mirrors. We made tile shape and color decisions that make the primary suite feel like one cohesive space, whether the bathroom door is open or closed.

The bathroom's signature element is the Magic Sliding System door: a floating panel with a hidden track that eliminates the bulky hardware typical of barn doors and delivers a clean, minimal shape that our team counts among their favorites on this project. A heated fan rounds out the everyday comfort and improved energy efficiency of the space.
