A new screened-in porch in Middleton
This screened-in porch project in Middleton began as a straightforward deck remodel. The homeowners had an existing outdoor deck that wasn’t getting much use and wanted to replace it with a screened-in porch similar to others in their neighborhood—something brighter, more comfortable, and easier to enjoy throughout the warmer months.
As the porch remodel took shape, the focus expanded beyond the exterior addition. To help the new screened-in porch feel like a true part of the home, our team also made thoughtful interior changes.
We widened the archway between the kitchen and dining room and expanded the doorway from the dining room to the porch, installing a large multi-sliding stacking door. These updates improved flow between spaces and made the porch feel connected rather than separate.
The finished result is a screened-in porch addition in Middleton that blends naturally with the home’s existing layout. The porch feels easy to move in and out of, with clear sightlines and strong indoor-outdoor connection—something that’s especially noticeable when the doors are open and the spaces function together. Inside, the widened archway adds openness without changing the character of the home.
This project is a great example of how a deck remodel or porch remodel can become more than just an outdoor upgrade. By considering how the addition connects back to the home, the screened-in porch now feels intentional, comfortable, and well-integrated—already a favorite spot for the family and their dog, Barley, to spend time together.
