We created the large porch on this home in Middleton as part of the process of moving the entryway forward to allow for a proper entryway. Originally, the front door was recessed into an alcove, which created a small entry stoop and a cramped entry at the base of the main stairway. The new porch fits right in with the rest of the home’s architecture and provides a stately and welcoming entryway to the home. It has room for the whole family to sit and is wide enough to protect guests as they are greeted at the door. As finishing touches, we weatherized the upper gable and made improvements to the siding to improve the curb appeal of this home without needing to replace all of the siding.
